Faith in ourselves

While I sit, in a quite space I reflect on faith.  Being that it is Easter Sunday, I see faith as a non-denominational discussion.  My question today for you is; 

 If we are to understand that we are created in the image of "god" and we have faith in that, why do we not have faith in ourselves?  

 Many discussions are centred around losing faith in ourselves, not being able to compete a task, failure at what is presented.

 Do we know that as much as success is part of life, the same can be for failure?  Learning and becoming better is part of the journey we travel on.  To condem failure is to condem life.  

 Take a moment to look back and see how that each time you've fallen, you've gotten back up.  The times that you have succeeded in the step back, you have become stronger, wiser and better.

 Believe in yourself and have the same faith.

Becoming

Having several uncompleted posts as life was happening, I lost track of time and perhaps, a bit of desire to write.  As always, I write with honesty which I was struggling with.   Today, I had a session with my counsellor.  It was amazing to hear myself speak about my journey lately. over a year ago, I was deep within what I thought was a swamp.  I could barely see through the murky waters, struggling to fight the weeds that felt as if I was being pulled down.  I'd get a glimpse of light through and kept on fighting my way forward.  Once out of the swamp and weeds, I gained my foundation and started to work upwards.  The rocks beneath my feet crumbled at times, stumbling and of course falling to my knees.  I would take moments of rest for recovery, often giving myself the grace of tears.  Not wanting to look back in fear of what was chasing me, I kept forging forward.   Today, I spoke about the journey so far and with a burst of emotion let it out and saying;  "I may not be at

No room for shame

Shame.  It’s a heavy weight to carry yet we all do it. From being a young child to a grown adult, I look back and have felt this throughout life.  The shame though, isn’t on me completely and recognizing this now I feel free.   Why? Those choices I made were to survive and heal.   From what others choose and to that end, I recognize where the shame lies and for those who drove a nail deep down, forcing a hand to which I did not want to choose.   The most freeing part of it is that I will carry on.  To become more, to show others how to survive the storm of shame and to become stronger.   I am not what others try to define of me, I am what I choose and shame is not part of that path and has no room in my life any longer.
